Earliest meeting: Monday 6th April 1863 Final meeting: Monday 5th April 1875 Warwickshire’s Binley Hunt regularly held races in the middle of the 19th century, with the first meeting organised in 1863 under the name of the Yeomanry and Hunt Steeplechases. The meeting took place on Mr Cattern’s Oak Farm, Binley near Coventry, where racing continued for the next twelve years. The principal race was the Yeomanry Cup which was donated by the Earl of Aylesford and won by Mr E P Watson’s Lockeridge at the meeting held on Wednesday 29th March 1871. The final meeting took place on Monday 5th April 1875. |
